Testing a Book Review

"The Reeve's Tale" by Margaret Frazer 1999, Berkley Publishing Group ISBN: 0-425-17232-5 In “The Reeve's Tale” by Margaret Frazer you are doubly gifted in the sense that you get to puzzle out a murder mystery along with the folks in the tale and you get to experience a sense of what life must have been like during medieval times. Deep thought and a sense of historical correctness accompany you while you read so that if you had never given it a second thought you now know a whole lot more about times medieval than you did before. This is the third book I’ve read where we get to accompany Sister Frevisse as she is pulled away from her cloistered life as a nun to be involved in things worldly wicked. Dame Frevisse is sort of like a clerical Peter Falk; she observes, asks questions and when she has all her ducks in order is able to piece together a murder that has had the entire village baffled. I’ve met characters in "The Reeve's Tale" that appear in the other books I’ve read by Margaret Frazer and even though I’ve been reading them out of sequence it does not affect the story in any way. Reading these books is relaxing for me. I am able to step out of myself for a time and just be with other folk. I recommend this book.

Wierd Title Problem

Well, this is a test. For whatever reason I couldn't seem to get a title to be with the latest post on the Learn Spanish Blog about my new book, "When Spirit Whispers". To see if it was happening elsewhere I tried a post here and it looks like this one won't work either. So, maybe it will all straighten itself out later. I'm off to read a new book, "Simply Magic" by Mary Balogh....and, after looking at the blogger group gripes and finding out everybody in the world is having problems with titles today the solution is to click way high up on the title field almost as though you are out of the box and the arrow turns into the familiar vertical bar that indicates you can type again.

Update

Well, I'm still searching for an interesting skin to use with my other blogs. I've tweaked them and tweaked them until I would never, almost in a million years, be able to replicate the same blog elements. I have saved them, but you never know. Anyway, I've put a wonderful picture of DeeDude in the header area. I didn't realize you could add a picture. Maybe that is new.

What I do

So, I’ve signed up for PayPerPost and I’ve actually accepted and written one opportunity. It was about PayPerPost and if they accept my entry I will make $15. Which ain’t bad. But, I sat here yesterday thinking about sprinkling advertising copy all over my blog and I didn’t feel all that thrilled about it. And, the thought occurred to me….why not give each advertisement a psychic bent? Somehow weave into the copy some flavor that will support the psychic that is me or, at least what is purported to be me.

It’s not like I’m a hugely successful psychic. It’s more like I’m an over salted soup. Some psychic. Actually, no different than anybody else. Except I channel. And, they’ve told me that makes me psychic. So, I go around saying I’m psychic even though I don’t feel like it most of the time.

Final Sense

Holy Moly, but I've stumbled upon a site that has managed to create some of the most incredible Blogger templates I've seen in a long time. It's called FinalSense and I'm trying out the little Kitty Cat template right now. Thinking about revamping the other sites, but doing this one first just to see how it works out. Supposedly, it doesn't work with the New Beta Blogger, but then, not much does at this point.

What I'd like to learn is what is the hack, I suppose it's called, to add the label feature to any blog template. That's what would work well.

But, the stationary picture in the background is what is intriguing to me right now.

First post after switching to Blogger Beta

Oh, lets see if this works. I was really nervous to see that I wasn't just switching this test only blog, but all 3 of the other blogs as well. Tried to edit one of them at lunch time to see if I could add a category. But, it didn't work. So, this will be the very, very first one.

And, it is okay to create a new one, now I want to see an old one edited with a label.

Another test

After having made the very scary attempt to have my blog, thespiritmovedme.blogspot.com be redirected or whatever happens to it so that when somebody types in www.thespiritmovedme.com they get the same results as with www.thespiritmovedme.blogspot.com

However, it stuck at 87% completed. So, I figured I'd better do it with this practice blog first. With not too many entries it went right over. I was so impressed. However, big however, not one of the archives went over. So, I would need to transfer each one of them by hand???? I'm not sure how to do it.

Anyway, and in the mean time, I figured I'd see if I could make an entry from the blogger create pages. Then, I'll try it from word.

Hey, now I have remembered in time. I wanted to see how the different Google Adsense ads would look and was hesitant to just plow into the project. Here I am able to see. So, for the first salvo we have a style I have not worked with before. I really don't know what will happen, so, using this test blog as a place to test it all out is fabulous.



Like I said, I hope it works.

Testing New Headset

So, here I am again with another audio blog. This one is a test and if anybody happens to hit the lottery and actually listens to this, bravo. Because, it isn't going to be up here very long. I just want to have the opportunity to test out this new headset I bought at Radio Shack today. Actually, as I think about it I might even just shift it over to the test blog that I've got going to try new things out.

Fiddle Dee Dee

Well, what I'm trying to do right now is to create a drop down for the archives. Seeing as how there aren't that many posts in this blog I will have one in June and one in July...unless I can figure out a way to change the date on one of them.

These Will Be My Experiments...Bwaaggghhh

I'm going to be experimenting on these pages. What I hope to accomplish is to create better looking sites for my other two blogs. This might eventually turn into something even more functional, or, may remain my chalkboard for all time.

For the record, I have found a couple of absolutely fabulous templates to use with Blogger.
